Privacy Policy
We only store information that is necessary to respond to user enquiries.
This is strictly limited to your Email Address and contact details.
The software does NOT transfer any information back to our website.
We are NOT interested in your personal profile or surfing habits.
We do NOT sell, rent or give personal information to any third party.
What information do I have to provide to Register?
If paying Online you will need to provide your payment details to the third party website which handles payments for us.
This website will NOT pass your payment details to us, but will provide us with your contact details so we can send your Registration Code to you. If you post your payment directly to us you need to provide your email address so we can send
out your Registration Code.
Where are my
details stored?
AccountLogon is a Windows based program and always runs on your own PC.
Your details are encrypted in a file on your own PC or network. The default name for this file is 'MyAccounts.dat',
but you can specify its location and name when you create it.
This file is protected by strong encryption and a Master Password which you determine.
Who has access to my
accounts?
Only you have access to your accounts! Your Master Password protects your
account details.
Only this password can unlock your encrypted file. You should never give this password to anyone else and we recommend you memorize it and do not keep
any written copies of it.
When you logon to your accounts, AccountLogon will fill in the website's logon page with your details, just as you would normally do.
The security of your details are then dependant on the website you are logging into.
Does the software access your website?
We are committed to protecting your privacy and do NOT transfer any information whatsoever to our website.
When registering your copy, the software will check our website to ensure the registration code you are
entering is valid.
This is done only once when you register.
What if I forget my Master Password?
If you forget your Master Password there is no way of recovering it.
You must delete your accounts file (eg 'MyAccounts.dat') and create a
new one.
You can do this by running the program and typing a new filename
in the 'Open Accounts File' dialog. The program will ask if you
would like to create the new file, you must answer YES.
What is encryption?
Encryption involves the scrambling of data using mathematical formula.
Only those who have the correct key can unscramble the data.
The level of encryption is usually measured in terms of how long the key is.
The longer the key, the longer it would take someone to break the encryption.
The key length is measured in bits, for example 40-bit encryption or 128-bit encryption.
For a 40-bit key there would be 240 possible combinations.
What level of encryption does AccountLogon use?
Most banking websites use 128-bit encryption, which is currently the highest publicly available encryption for websites and web browsers.
AccountLogon uses 448-bit encryption utilizing the industry standard Blowfish symmetric algorithm and the MD5 message digest function.
There are other important aspects of security besides encryption and AccountLogon provides various features to increase overall security.
What other
security features are built into AccountLogon?
There are many things that can be done to make a program secure. Any
product claiming to be 'secure' because it uses very strong encryption may be misleading you. The security of a product is only as good as its weakest link, and the weakest link may not be the encryption. That's why there are various other features built into AccountLogon
to protect your information.
(a) The 'Mask' facility which prevents others from seeing your passwords even if they gain access to you computer.
(b) The 'Lock Screen' and 'Auto-Lock Screen' facilities allow you to lock the program when you are away from your computer or after a specified number of idle minutes.
(c) The 'In-Memory Encryption' which ensures that all your details are secure while residing in your computers memory
(RAM). AccountLogon uses strong encryption for all your details while they are being used in memory. This feature is normally only found in
military grade applications.
(d) Finally, AccountLogon does NOT use the Windows Clipboard to fill your logon details. Many other programs use the Paste function to simulate a user keying in their logon details - this is a good way of compromising your private information.
AccountLogon uses direct automation of Internet Explorer to fill all logon fields. This ensures your information is as safe as possible.
